Active development of this project has been moved to a new repository: 👉 https://github.com/Michael-Matta1/zsh-edit-select
The new version includes major improvements:
- Significant performance optimizations
- Many new enhancements
- macOS clipboard support
- A fully redesigned and rewritten codebase
- Better experience
The new updates and support will be continued on the new repository
This fork was originally created to add the ability to copy selected text, because the origin jirutka/zsh-shift-select plugin only supported deleting selected text and did not provide copying by default.
This feature had been frequently requested by the community, as shown in issue #8 and issue #10.
Since then, the project has grown far beyond its initial purpose, gaining its own set of features, enhancements, bug fixes, and design improvements—eventually leading to a fully rewritten codebase and a full editor-like experience. All further development now continues under the new name zsh-edit-select.
