Unable to change text property of FiretypeStarlingTextField

To change text property of FiretypeStarlingTextField after it has been set, I have to clear glyph cache like that: fireTypeTextField.cache.clearHardwareGlyphCache();
This procedure apparently slows the performance down significantly.
