The idea would be modularized DISO into several modules and build a Dislocation Ontology Suite (DISOS). At the moment, DISOS would consist of

  • DISO-core which describes materials scientific concept and representation of dislocations.
  • DISO-cso (Crystal Structure Ontology) which describes the crystal model/representation and coordinate system.
  • DISO-sim (Dislocation simulation) which models the concrete/different simulation frameworks/tools. E.-g., everything concerning the discretisation.
  • DISO-cdo (Crystalline Defect Ontology) which describes the physical entity of crystalline materials and the defect representation in crystalline materials.

Thus, several steps need to be taken to realize this idea:
