Did you test the latest bugfix-2.1.x code?

Yes, and the problem still exists.

Bug Description

When I enable DISPLAY_SLEEP_MINUTES, the UI becomes slow

Bug Timeline

I only recently tried this option.

Expected behavior

DISPLAY_SLEEP_MINUTES shouldn't affect UI performance

Actual behavior

When I enable DISPLAY_SLEEP_MINUTES, the UI becomes slow

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Enable DISPLAY_SLEEP_MINUTES
  2. ?
  3. No profit

Version of Marlin Firmware

Sha: 08d4ba5 (20th of november)

Printer model

Ultimaker 2

Electronics

SKR 3

LCD/Controller

SSD1309

Other add-ons

No response

Bed Leveling

ABL 3-point

Your Slicer

Other (explain below)

Host Software

SD Card (headless)

Don't forget to include

  • A ZIP file containing your Configuration.h and Configuration_adv.h.

Additional information & file uploads

I'm using software i2c from a #26433 and the u8lib optimisations from MarlinFirmware/U8glib-HAL#31, none of which should make any difference to this.
After enabling it, I reseted EEPROM and restarted for good measure.
