Somehow, a user was able to create a dataset with a creator's affiliation ROR identifier, but a name that differs from the ROR entry. This should only be possible via API.
Dataset Entry: MPI for Biogeochemistry
ROR Entry: Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry (https://ror.org/051yxp643)
Title: Possibility to specify wrong ROR for institute
Date: 24.02.2023
User: Jan
Browser: Chrome/ Windows 10
Actions: edit Metadata -> enter a name for author -> don´t choose one suggested names but leave it as you wrote it -> enter wrong URL/ORCID/ROR
Observation:
Difference between selected and unselected options (for Name and ORCID not selected but for Organization selected and then it is impossible to change the ROR)
And now it is shown like a proper orcid
And if you edit the metadata again, you can´t edit the orcid anymore and it looks like it is “correct”
