Adding local payment options?

Hi,

I'm experimenting using LB for our apartements household purposes between the neighbours. Since we are in Europe, Paypal isn't really an option for normal consumer payments. I wonder how big of a task would it be to implement local payment provider?

Is Paypal hard coded into system, or is there some payment plugin method? E.g. this Paytrail is quite a common here in webshops. It combines many payment options, credit cards and bank transfers:

Would it be big effort to add by someone familiar to php?
