investigate memory usage when doing artificial ellipticity experiments

first we need to determine if we do this in CPU or GPU

if GPU, I think we should be able to fit more ellipticities than what I have so far? (need to look at memory at each floating point, estimate memory usage, be carefult to not have garbage data around in memory...)
