Remote controlling a node is nice, but we want this to work directly on the smartphone using neutrino.

Can the node route if the app is closed? Neutrino is still not in Core though, so there's plenty of time.

The filter part is already in present 0.19. I would also like to see (and help if I can) some development towards that front.

But just taking in consideration the amount of data that has to be downloaded, even with the light filters I'm not sure a mobile device can handle all of that.

Check it here: https://bitcoinops.org/en/newsletters/2019/04/23/#basic-bip158-support-merged-in-bitcoin-core

What would be the right approach to this? I was thinking of maybe creating a java/kotlin library for the filters. What is your overall opinion?

@Relaxo143 Currently it works like this, that when the app is closed, LND will be shutdown.
I don't think they are meant to be used as routing nodes on mobile devices.

@bilthon LND already supports using neutrino on mobile. Thats how we have LND enabled on iOS devices with zap iOS, and I'm currently working at getting it wrapped up for zap Android.

Most users want this feature.

Does zap Android support neutrino on mobile now?
