Hello Kentico GitHub Developer community!
Long time no see!
🤔 When I was putting together this Developer Flash, I gathered all interesting things that have happened in Kentico's open-source universe since June and group them into several areas. I have picked about top 20 news not to flood your brains.... I dare not say if I succeeded 😁
Let's jump right into the new GitHub repos:
@strizr published a new custom element that analyzes your content and tells you how to improve it.
@kentico-michaelb describes how the Microsoft ML.NET can label your movie library in Kontent. If words are not enough, just fast-forward to the source code
Speaking of cutting edge technologies, check out @kentico-ericd's augmented reality real estate demo built using Deno and Kontent.
@xantari, one of the most active contributors in Kentico Kontent .NET repositories, went the extra mile and open-sourced the Azure Cognitive Search implementation for Kentico Kontent. Take a look at his approach to dealing with HTML content indexing, search synchronization, taxonomy-based URLs, and more.
Now let's take a look at the latest development in Kentico Kontent SDKs.
The Java SDKs are dead! Long live the Java SDK! Kentico Kontent Java SDKs made a huge step forward in the last six months. This "revolution" made the existing two SDKs obsolete. The new Java SDK v4 combines features and benefits of both into a single package. These features include an automatic strongly-typed model generator, extended capabilities for the Thymeleaf template engine in combination with the Springboot framework, support for JavaRX, and Android environment, plus a bunch of sample apps.
.NET Delivery SDK is not lagging behind with its enhancements. In fact, a major rewrite took place in order to support new features and to improve the developer experience for .NET devs. This refresh was done mainly by @petrsvihlik and @tomasjurasek and thanks to these guys, you can enjoy:

It has been about a year since DevRel team started focusing on making Jamstack and Kentico Kontent best friends. Let's see what happened in the second half of the year.
Gatsby has been one of the biggest topics in the prior Developer Flash issues, so let's start with it. First of all, version 6 of gatsby source plugin was released. This huge release opens up the doors to close up a partnership between Kontent and Gatsby, but why to go into details when @ondrabus described the journey on the official Gatsby blog, and the result is clear on Official Gatsby benchmarks. The new version also comes with a set of best practices you might find out useful for a bigger and more complex project.
Next.js Kentico Kontent MVP, @rshackleton brings our attention to Next.js—a static site generator focused mainly on developers. So you might want to take a look at his article about Solving content preview with Next.js and Kontent. Or just start from the beginning and check out the Official Next.js example app for Kontent.
Other static site generators also deserve the attention. An Eleventy starter kit for Kontent from @makma was published. Hugo—a representative of the Go language in the SSG field—dragged the attention of @makma and @kentico-michaelb. They started to experiment with it independently of each other and created two starters Victor Hugo Kontent and Kentico Kontent Hugo article sample, along with the enjoyable article.
SSGs aggregator Stackbit and @makma can answer the question of How to make friends with various data sources in the Jamstack.
@ondrabus on his journey to try every single static site generator with Kentico Kontent recorded hours of streams and then distilled them into nice and short tips-and-tricks videos on his YouTube channel "ondrabus". My personal favorite is "WTF is ?" series.
Kontent Web Spotlight is gaining more and more attention in the headless CMS world. Jamstack architecture seems to fit the Web Spotlight. @avivasolutionsnl agrees in the article Dynamic routing with Kentico Kontent and NextJS, Gatsby starter Lumen agrees as well in Implementing Web Spotlight guide. And if you are curious "WTF is ...?" Web Spotlight - checkout @mcbeev's podcast episode with @andythompy - Examining Web Spotlight for Kentico Kontent.
What happend in the 🥑 DevRel team?
Lately, while exploring the world of Jamstack, something strange happened in the Kontent DevRel team...
...Independently of each other, all DevRel team members published their personal websites—wait for it—on Jamstack!
That's it for today
If I forgot or messed up something, feel free to add a comment or submit a new "Show and tell" topic about a cool tech project you have done!
Also, tell us how you like the Flash. We always love hearing from you!

Kentico Kontent Dev.to organization is live, don't forget to subscribe! There are a couple of content pieces and a bunch of dev fails you might find entertaining and weirdly familiar.
@mcbeev's podcast "Kentico Rocks" went through various topics about Kontent and Xperience in last six months. #dotnet, #Azure, #WebSpotlight, #JsTesting, #Jamstack...
