Polygon repeated last points

Are we assuming polygons and their rings have a repeated last point? Or are we always checking?

If they don't, should we add an extra last point or just try to make the algorithm work regardless of the repeated last point?

Probably we should check where it matters for the algorithm, and when we return polygons they should have the repeated point?

At some point, we should make sure that this is happening for all algorithms and make sure it is done in a consistent way.
