Unit testing with fireEvent #1212

Can you provide an example of unit testing this in React Testing Library with something like fireEvent? I've tried with v5, but to no avail.

I see this issue recommending browser tests back in 2019. Is that still the case? What about for those not using a browser test like Cypress?
