It seems the Windows installer failed to install the OutlineService. Please double check whether you have installed any anti-virus software that is blocking us from installing the service? Please quote this reply for the location of the service: Jigsaw-Code/outline-apps#1451 (comment)

My clients have the same problem, and it occurs very often. The service is installed, the TAP adapter is also installed and enabled. The error is still: "Outline needs your permission to set up a VPN connection to the server. Please try again, or submit feedback if you need help."

There are no antiviruses, OC Windows 7. What to do?

If you upgrade to the latest version, it writes the error "Outline needs your permission to set up a VPN connection to the server. Please try again, or submit feedback if you need help."

We no longer support Windows 7 (see our minimum system requirements at https://support.getoutline.org/s/article/What-are-the-system-requirements-to-run-the-Outline-client?language=en_US). Feel free to use an old version if that works for you, but note that it will try to auto-update.
