Option to disable pairing mode

I'm using a Pinephone with my Pinetime. I'm using the sleepwalk script from L0v3P01s0n to extend battery life. It works by putting the Pinephone into deep-sleep when certain conditions are met and periodically wakes it so applications like Dino can check for new messages.

When the Pinephone is in deep-sleep mode, the Pinetime is no longer connected and automatically goes into pairing mode, which can be a bit of a problem out in public.

Would it be possible to add an option that keeps bluetooth enabled but disables pairing mode even when disconnected?
