Gearing in a Slit Set
The following is a step by step guide for setting up a slit-set from four blades to axes representing vertical and horizontal gap sizes and centres. This guide assumes the following axis configuration:
Axis 1: NORTH
Axis 2: SOUTH
Axis 3: EAST
Axis 4: WEST
Axis 5: VG (Vertical Gap)
Axis 6: VC (Vertical Centre)
Axis 7: HG (Horizontal Gap)
Axis 8: HC (Horizontal Centre)
Note: If the configuration above is not used, the slit set graphic and controls on the "Slit Set" menu table will not function as this is currently directly tied in to axis numbers.
-
Disable any running motion control custom PROG() via the "Disable MC" button on the I/O tab of the visualisation menu bar the user.
-
On the "Single Axis" tab of the visualisation, select gearing from the advanced controls section.
-
Begin the process of gearing in the blade axes to the masters:
- Axis 1:
Master1: 5 Ratio: 0.5
Master2: 6 Ratio: 1.0
- Axis 2:
Master1: 5 Ratio: -0.5
Master2: 6 Ratio: 1.0
- Axis 3:
Master1: 7 Ratio: 0.5
Master2: 8 Ratio: 1.0
- Axis 4:
Master1: 7 Ratio: -0.5
Master2: 8 Ratio: 1.0
Gear In must be pressed for every axis.
-
If the configuration noted at the beginning of this page has been used then it will be possible to jog the slit set using the "Slit Set" menu accessible from the top header bar.
-
Using the simulation advanced control tab, it is possible to define end limits for a virtual slit set and check that the gap axes function and stop correctly (as they will monitor the slave axes' limit switches).
