Dim HASP backlight at night

I was looking to port over a legacy HASP automation to dim the backlight at night but then I remembered that there’s a whole forum full of people making rad blueprints!

Check out Dim lights based on the sun’s elevation, select your HASP backlight as the light to control and now the HASP won’t be shining bright at night in your bedroom.

Well I was using this to turn off my backlight on the old HASP plate and it worked nicely. But I tried on HASPone and it crashes.

The binary_sensor entity no longer exists. You might be able to fix the package above by replacing binary_sensor.bedroom_connected with sensor.bedroom_sensor.

Yes thanks i will change it.
The problem I have is with the Disable script. It does not turn off the thup and tbsp it just crashes the wemos D1.

Any chance you can grab a debug log when that happens? Not sure what would be going on there.

I have sorted it I tried it on another D1 and newer Nextion panel which i had updated the firmware by uploading your HASwitchPlate.HMI with the Nextion Editor few days ago to Ver S151 and it works fine but the Bedroom one had Nextion firmware Ver S48 so updated that and all works as well.

So thanks i can now sleep at night without the Nextion panel lights on.

I was hoping to get your version back as well because I already tried this guy's blueprint and every morning my HASP backlight is not dimmed, it's actually turned off. It also doesn't come back on on its own.

Can you screenshot your settings? This one works great for me and has been working as expected over a few days.

edit: maybe set the Change Allowance to 100%?

That's odd because the only thing I changed in mine was to make the minimum brightness actually 1 more than yours and to change the transition time from 0 to 1 second so it wouldn't be an immediate change.
Guess I'll have to turn on debugging for this even though your version of this was working perfectly for us. Haha

One thing I note - you mention your backlight is turned off in the morning, and it appears you have "turn off lights automatically" enabled which is probably why. I'd disable both "Turn on lights automatically" and "Turn off lights automatically" and it might at least solve that one problem.

I guess I assumed that meant lights controlled by my HASP. I see this is not a HASP specific blueprint, so that makes sense now. Thanks!

Hope this helps I also have the HASP Bedroom Activates a page 1 after a 15 sec period of inactivity.

Edit: Just tred it with the Activates a page 1 after a 15 sec period of inactivity To OFF and it still locks up.
It looks like the MQTT has stopped as there is nothing coming into the MQTT Explorer.
