The element links are not usable when opened via mobile devices.

We likely have to use the matrix.to URLs to get the shareable links that look better on mobile. However, for desktop computers, the direct element links still look much better.

And the fact remains that the matrix.to links might still confuse people, which is unfortunate.

We need to provide a better experience here:

Once element-hq/element-web#14962 is resolved, we will be able to switch back to the direct links again, to simplify the UX for new contributors.

The workaround is now live. Keeping this issue open until the Element mobile web UI has been improved.

This might be a solution to reduce the number of required steps: matrix-org/matrix.to@47d0db8
