German BioImaging

German BioImaging – Gesellschaft für Mikroskopie und Bildanalyse e.V. (GerBI-GMB e.V.) unites scientists, students, core facilities, and industry partners around key topics in microscopy, image analysis, and research data management. We are dedicated to shaping the bioimaging landscape by actively participating in various national and international research projects, and supporting our members with teaching and training in Germany and beyond.

The Research Software Engineering unit supports GerBI mission through development of open-source software and standards for microscopy data, and a core contributor in the Open Microscopy Environment(OME) community, particularly in the development of OME-Zarr, a next-generation file format (NGFF).
