Hi all, I am trying to run FreeTube (v0.23.13 Beta) on Raspberry Pi OS. It works great on Linux Mint. However, I installed it on my Raspberry Pi (Raspberry Pi OS - Linux 6.12.62+rpt-rpi-2712 aarch64) and it won't work. When I start FreeTube, the subscriptions page is visible. Then, no matter what I try to do (search, click through navigation), the screen goes white. This happens so quickly that I haven't been able to add any subscriptions or watch a video.

I installed it using pi-apps, removed it, then installed it using Snapd, just to see if there would be a difference but it was still going to the white screen.

I found this page from March 2025 with the same issue and with no resolution.

I'm new to all of this, and any troubleshooting is most welcome!

Like pointed out in the post you linked, multiple Electron applications suffer from the same issue which makes me believe this is an Electron issue so its best to ask upstream

I have the same problem (MX Linux). FreeTube was working well on the Raspberry Pi 4. Now I’ve switched to the Pi 5 and I have the same reported issue.

@drxpancakes @Daraf-it as mentioned before this is likely because of Electron. Please try out the latest nightly build and report back if that works better.

Upgraded freetube 23.15beta from Pi-Apps (arm version for Raspberry Pi), but it doesn’t work. The white screen problem persists.
I have also FreeTube-0.23.15-nightly-7088-arm64.AppImage and it works swell.

Ah yeah you have to stick with the nightly for now. When we release v0.24.0 you can switch to it
