Welcome to google-ai-overview-blocker! This is a simple userscript designed to remove those distracting AI summary boxes in Google Search results. Enjoy the classic, clutter-free Google experience. Follow these steps to download and run the script with ease.
Before you start, ensure you have the following:
- A web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge)
- Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey extension installed

For Chrome:
- Open the Chrome Web Store.
- Search for “Tampermonkey.”
- Click on "Add to Chrome" and confirm.

For Firefox:
- Go to the Firefox Add-ons site.
- Search for “Tampermonkey.”
- Click on "Add to Firefox" and follow the prompts.

For Edge:
- Open the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store.
- Search for “Tampermonkey.”
- Click on "Get" to add it to Edge.
To get started, visit the Releases page to download the latest version of the userscript.

Once the script is downloaded, follow these steps:
- Open your browser and click the Tampermonkey icon in the toolbar.
- Select Dashboard from the dropdown menu.
- Click the Utilities tab.
- Look for a button that says Install from file or similar.

The script will load in a new tab. Review the code if you wish, then click the Install button in Tampermonkey.
Once you install the script, it will run automatically. You do not need to configure anything. Just head to Google Search, and see how the AI summary boxes no longer clutter your search results.
If you do not see the expected changes, try these steps:
- Make sure Tampermonkey is enabled in your browser.
- Restart your browser.
- Check for any updates for the script on the Releases page.
- Disable any other scripts that might interfere with the functionality.
