You might be able to manually set the size of the work units you receive for your GPU slot. Here are the steps you can try:

  1. Open the application FAHControl by searching for it in the Windows search bar
  2. In the top left corner, click on configure with the gear icon
  3. In the configure window popup, choose Slots at the top
  4. Click on the slot called gpu and click edit at the bottom right
  5. Under Extra slot options (expert only) click add at the bottom right
  6. For name, enter client-type. For value, enter small or normal.
  7. Click OK, OK, and then Save

I'm not sure if these steps will change the size of your work units in version 7, but it could be worth a shot.
