Beta 2 adds an independently installable Phone variant while keeping the
controller-first Handheld behavior unchanged.

Choose a Build

AbyssME-0.1.0-beta.2-fdroid-release.apk
: landscape-only Handheld build for
physical controllers, ES-DE, Beacon, and Android gaming devices.

AbyssME-0.1.0-beta.2-phone-release.apk
: Phone build with automatic rotation,
a compact portrait library, direct MIDP touch input, and an on-screen keypad.

Both variants require Android 10 or newer and can be installed together. They
use independent app data and per-game settings.

Phone Controls

Virtual numbers, directions, fire, soft keys, and emulator Menu are enabled
by default for newly installed games.

Touch input and the virtual keypad can be toggled separately per game.

Key layout, opacity, colors, haptics, and orientation remain configurable.

The compatibility test preserves the Phone input settings.

Shared Improvements

Version and package names now distinguish Handheld and Phone installations.

The release signing path is resolved consistently from the project root.

The README and launcher integration guide document both packages.

Phone package:
io.github.eriark.abyssme.phone

Version code:
102

Minimum Android:
10
(API 29)

Automated unit tests, Android lint, R8/resource shrinking, manifest inspection,
and APK signature verification were run for this release. Physical-device
touch layout and rotation still need a fresh device pass.
EriArktag:github.com,2008:Repository/1275508787/v0.1.0-beta.12026-07-18T16:45:54ZAbyssME 0.1.0 Beta 1
AbyssME 0.1.0 Beta 1

This is the first public beta of AbyssME, a controller-first J2ME emulator for
Android gaming handhelds.

Highlights

Landscape library with Gallery, List, Grid, Recent, Favorites, and Folders

Automatic compatibility preparation on first launch

Per-game named controller profiles and in-game quick mapping

Live View and virtual Screen controls during gameplay

JAR, JAD, ZIP, and 7Z importing through Android's file picker

Direct
ACTION_VIEW
launching from ES-DE, Beacon, and Android frontends

Automatic icon/cover extraction with generated artwork fallbacks

Symptom-based Fix game actions with optional expert settings

Installation

Download
AbyssME-0.1.0-beta.1-fdroid-release.apk
below and install it on
Android 10 or newer. A physical controller and landscape display are strongly
recommended. This package can coexist with upstream J2ME Loader.

Verification

Package:
io.github.eriark.abyssme

Version code:
101

Minimum Android:
10
(API 29)

Target Android: API 34

SHA-256:
9714DF7D9E7F3F835334A8460A6ECD5F007B90B9507A59D8034DB1C3C274A3D3

Automated unit tests, Android lint, debug assembly, and release assembly passed
for this build. The final beta still needs a fresh hardware pass on Odin 2;
controller focus and compatibility heuristics can vary between games.

Known Limitations

Phone model and screen-size selection is heuristic and may need Fix game
for uncommon releases.

There is no portrait launcher or on-screen virtual keypad.

Some vendor-specific J2ME APIs remain limited by the upstream core.

Please report issues with the device model, Android version, game filename, and
visible symptom. Do not attach copyrighted commercial game files.
EriArk
