TwinPixels - Compare images side by side

TwinPixels is an application for viewing and comparing images side by side. It allows you to load pairs of images from entire folders or select files manually, features zoom and synchronized movement functions, as well as exporting the comparative view. You can add multiple image pairs and save them ready for presentations with its full-screen mode. It is ideal for photographers, designers, historians, researchers, or anyone who needs to analyze images.

EXECUTION

• Download the executable file “TwinPixels.exe” from the link provided by the developer.
• No installation required: simply run the “.exe” file by double-clicking it.
• If you use antivirus software, make sure it allows the file to run (false positives are common with .exe files).
• The executable file includes all necessary dependencies.

USER INTERFACE

The interface is organized into three main areas:

Left panel:

• Folder loading.
• Free selection.
• Button to clear loaded items.
• Synchronization indicator.
• List of image pairs.
• Screenshot button.
• Full screen.

Right panel:

• Left viewer (Image 1).
• Right viewer (Image 2).
• Specific zoom controls for each viewer (✚, ━, ⌞ ⌝).

Top menu bar contains: File, Options, and About.

IMAGE LOADING

• 📂 Load folder: Select a folder → images are automatically grouped in pairs in alphabetical order.
• 🖼️ Free selection: Select individual images by holding down Ctrl → they are paired in the exact order selected.
• Pairs appear in the side list → click to view.

Supported formats

• PNG, JPG/JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, WEBP

VIEWING

• Double-click on any pair in the list to load it.
• Use the left and right keys on your keyboard to scroll through the pairs.
• Click and drag to move the image (pan).

Zoom functions

• ✚ button: Zoom in on the image.
• ━ button: Zoom out on the image.
• ⌞ ⌝ button: Adjust the image to the size of the viewer.
• Mouse wheel: Zoom in and out.

Auto Sync

• Activated when both images are the same size (width/height).
• Status visible in the left panel (green=activated, red=deactivated).
• When activated: Zoom and movement work the same in both viewfinders.

Synchronization disabled

The images will act independently in each viewer; use the zoom and movement in each viewer to compare manually.

Full screen mode

• ⛶ Full screen button or F11 to activate.
• Esc or F11 to exit the mode.
• Hides all control panels.
• Maximizes the display area.

Screenshot

• Click on “💾 Screenshot”.
• Choose the location and format to save.
• The screenshot will include both images side by side in a single image using the current view, saving a copy.
• Screenshot formats: PNG (better quality), JPEG (smaller file size).

IMPORTANT

• Selection order: In “Free selection,” choose the images in the exact order you want to pair them.
• Synchronization only works with images of identical dimensions. This does NOT mean that they must have the same content, only that they must have the same width and height in pixels.
• The application can handle very large images, with a limit of 30,000px.

Save comparison list

• File menu → Save list (Ctrl+S) → generates a .tpxl file with all current pairs.
• File menu → Load list (Ctrl+O) → Loads the saved list.

SHORTCUTS

• Ctrl + + 🔍 Zoom in on both viewers.
• Ctrl + - 🔍 Zoom out on both viewers.
• F11 ⛶ Toggle full screen.
• Esc or F11 🚪 Exit full screen.
• ← (Left arrow key) Previous pair.
• → (Right arrow key) Next pair.
• Mouse wheel 🔍 Zoom in on active viewer.

CUSTOMIZATION

• Options menu → Theme (Light/Dark).
• Options menu → Language (Spanish/English).
• Preferences are saved automatically.

TwinPixels - Comparar imágenes en pantalla dividida

TwinPixels es una aplicación para visualizar y comparar imágenes lado a lado. Permite cargar pares de imágenes desde carpetas completas o seleccionar los archivos manualmente, cuenta con funciones de zoom y movimiento sincronizado, además de exportar la vista comparativa. Puede añadir múltiples pares imágenes y guardas listas para presentaciones con su modo en pantalla completa. Es ideal para fotógrafos, diseñadores, historiadores, investigadores o cualquier persona que necesite analizar imágenes.

EJECUCIÓN

• Descarga el archivo ejecutable "TwinPixels.exe" desde el enlace proporcionado por el desarrollador.
• No requiere instalación: simplemente ejecuta el archivo ".exe" haciendo doble clic.
• Si usas antivirus, asegúrate de que permita la ejecución (falsos positivos comunes en .exe).
• El ejecutable incluye todas las dependencias necesarias.

INTERFAZ DE USUARIO

La interfaz está organizada en tres áreas principales:

Panel izquierdo:

• Carga de carpeta.
• Selección libre.
• Botón para limpiar elementos cargados.
• Indicador de sincronización.

• Botón de captura.
• Pantalla completa.

Panel derecho:

• Visor izquierdo (Imagen 1).
• Visor derecho (Imagen 2).

Barra de menú superior contiene: Archivo, Opciones y Acerca.

CARGA DE IMÁGENES

• 📂 Cargar carpeta: Selecciona una carpeta → las imágenes se agrupan automáticamente en pares según orden alfabético.
• 🖼️ Selección libre: Selecciona imágenes individuales manteniendo Ctrl → se emparejan en el orden exacto de selección.
• Los pares aparecen en la lista lateral → haz clic para visualizar.

Formatos soportados

• PNG, JPG/JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, WEBP

VISUALIZACIÓN

• Haz doble clic en cualquier par de la lista para cargarlo.
• Usa las teclas izquierda y derecha del teclado para navegar entre pares.
• Click + arrastre para mover la imagen (panorámica).

Funciones de zoom

• Botón ✚: Acerca la imagen (zoom in).
• Botón ━: Aleja la imagen (zoom out).
• Botón ⌞ ⌝: Ajusta la imagen al tamaño del visor.
• Rueda del mouse: Zoom adelante y atrás.

Sincronización automática

• Se activa cuando ambas imágenes tienen el mismo tamaño (ancho/alto).
• Estado visible en el panel izquierdo (verde=activada, rojo=desactivada).
• Cuando está activada: El zoom y movimiento actuan igual en ambos visores.

Sincronización desactivada Las imágenes actuaran de manera independiente en cada visor, usa el zoom y el movimiento en cada visor para comparar manualmente.

Modo pantalla completa

• Botón ⛶ Pantalla completa o F11 para activar.
• Esc o F11 para salir del modo.
• Oculta todos los paneles de control.
• Maximiza el área de visualización.

Captura de Pantalla

• Haz clic en "💾 Capturar".
• Elige ubicación y formato para guardar.
• La captura incluirá ambas imágenes lado a lado en una sola usando la vista que se tenga en ese momento, guardando una copia.
• Formatos de Captura: PNG (mejor calidad), JPEG (menor tamaño).

IMPORTANTE

• Orden de selección: En "Selección libre", elige las imágenes en el orden exacto que quieres emparejarlas.
• La sincronización solo funciona con imágenes de dimensiones idénticas, esto NO significa que deban tener el mismo contenido, solo se refiere a su ancho y alto en pixeles.
• La aplicación puede manejar imágenes muy grandes, el limite son 30.000px.

Guardar lista de comparaciones

• Menú Archivo → Guardar lista (Ctrl+S) → genera un archivo .tpxl con todos los pares actuales.
• Menú Archivo → Cargar lista (Ctrl+O) → Carga la lista guardada.

ATAJOS DE TECLADO

• Ctrl + + 🔍 Acercar zoom en ambos visores.
• Ctrl + - 🔍 Alejar zoom en ambos visores.
• F11 ⛶ Alternar pantalla completa.
• Esc o F11 🚪 Salir de pantalla completa.
• ← (Flecha del teclado izquierda) Par anterior.
• → (Flecha del teclado derecha) Siguiente par.
• Rueda del ratón 🔍 Zoom en visor activo.

PERSONALIZACIÓN

• Menú Opciones → Tema (Claro/Oscuro).
• Menú Opciones → Idioma (Español/Inglés).
• Las preferencias se guardan automáticamente.
