Software Installation

To paricipate in this course, the following software will be required. Software installation make take up to an hour, therefore please attempt to install all required software in the table below before the workshop, so that you may participate fully in all activities.

QGIS QGIS is a user friendly Open Source Geographic Information System (GIS) licensed under the GNU General Public License. QGIS is an official project of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo). It runs on Linux, Unix, Mac OSX, Windows and Android and supports numerous vector, raster, and database formats and functionalities. version 2.18
Anaconda Anaconda is the leading open data science platform powered by Python. The open source version of Anaconda is a high performance distribution of Python and R and includes over 100 of the most popular Python, R and Scala packages for data science. version 3.6
Sentinel Toolboxes The Sentinel-1 Toolbox (S1TBX) consists of a collection of processing tools, data product readers and writers and a display and analysis application to support the large archive of data from ESA SAR missions including SENTINEL-1, ERS-1 & 2 and ENVISAT, as well as third party SAR data from ALOS PALSAR, TerraSAR-X, COSMO-SkyMed and RADARSAT-2. The various processing tools could be run independently from the command-line and also integrated within the graphical user interface. The Toolbox includes tools for calibration, speckle filtering, coregistration, orthorectification, mosaicking, data conversion, polarimetry and interferometry. version 5.0.0
Panoply Desktop application that intersctively plots georeferenced and other data encoded in the netCDF, HDF and GRIB formats. (Requires Java) version 4.7
HDFView+Object HDFView is a visual tool for browsing and editing HDF4 and HDF5 files. Using HDFView, you can view a file hierarchy in a tree structure create new files, add or delete groups and datasets view and modify the content of a dataset add, delete and modify attributes version 2.13
