Hello,

We are writing to inform you about an Auto Minor Version Upgrade campaign for your Amazon RDS for RDS PostgreSQL resources in your account.

What is happening?
AWS is managing a campaign to upgrade RDS PostgreSQL resources that are opted into the Auto Minor Version Upgrade feature to engine version 17.9. This upgrade will enhance security, performance, and stability of your database instances.

Event Timeline:
Starting Mon, 18 May 2026 00:00:00 GMT, eligible resources in your AWS account will be scheduled for Auto Minor Version Upgrades during their configured maintenance windows. The upgrades will be performed automatically based on your existing maintenance window settings [1][2].

Next Steps:

1. Review the list of affected resources, their patch ordering, and scheduled patch times in the 'Affected resources' tab of your AWS Health Dashboard.
2. Ensure your applications can handle brief connectivity interruptions during the maintenance window.
3. Consider testing the new engine version in a non-production environment if you have not already.

All RDS PostgreSQL instances in us-east-1 have been reviewed against this campaign:

• cer-api-argo-prod-ce-registry-eks-postgres: manually upgraded to 17.9 ahead of the maintenance window.
• credential-engine-production: opted out of auto minor version upgrade — will be scheduled for a controlled upgrade separately.
• All remaining instances (sandbox, test, staging): auto minor version upgrade enabled, will be patched automatically during Monday's maintenance window.
