Hey @Pipe-Runner, if the server is getting the same data from two sources, then you’ll get double counting. It sounds like you’re using Sparky Fitness’s built in Garmin sync, which pulls data from them every hour. Syncing through the mobile app can pull in that same data again through Health Connect, through the Sparky Fitness app, and then up to your server. I’d recommend picking one of them for workout/activity data. As for 2 way sync, it sound super useful, and I agree that would make Sparky more capable one stop setup. I’ve added it to the todo list, but it’ll be something to look at after the first version of workout management is released. |

Hello @CodeWithCJ, I finished setting up SparkyFitness(SF) on my server and I am planning to use this as a drop in replacement for MyFitnessPal. I have a few questions as of now. I am a Garmin user which I use for tracking my workouts and runs. There is an app called LiftTrack that let's you create workouts and track progress in a nice android app. The nice thing about that app is it auto syncs with Garmin Connect so that workouts, when created, get imported into watch and scheduled as activities. It's pretty cool stuff. From my understanding, SF cannot push data to garmin, it can only get data.
I have installed the SF android app too. What I would like SF is to be my one place dashboard (source of truth) hence the point where all data should converge. H
HealthConnect on android acts like a bridge for all fitness apps. So right now for instance I connect MFP to connect to healthConnect and nothing else, that way garmin pushes data to health connect and MFP can pull and update its dashboard.
How would you suggest I set SF to do the same. The reason why I ask this is because I have already setup SF garmin integration which means it is pulling data via API, and also pulling data from HealthConnect via the android app. So I think there is some double counting going on.
This looks like a promising project, I would be happy to become a sponsor if I can use this to get rid of MFP completely.
Also as a suggestion, if this can. do what LiftTrack does, this can be a one stop fitness solution. You basically will create your workout on the dashboard here, and get it synced with garmin devices. U do your workout using garmin's rep counting and then the workout logs get updated on the dashboard.
