i see apple healthkit integration, how does it talk to healthkit and fetch / sync metrics from ios?

on the side note, ive been working on an ios app that focuses solely on sitting on ios, has a native healthkit integration and can push ALL metrics to either self hosted / cloud influxdb or prometheus via pushgateway straight and so far its been serving me well.

hey man apologies for the delay in response. just been busy with work. i am open to sharing the app repo with you as long as you plan on keeping this project open source. I used native swift and healthkit integration. lmk! :)

and no its not available in app store, i didnt feel like paying all the fees. i just compile on xcode and deploy it on my phone to use.

I don’t have a Mac, and the cost of a Developer License is another major blocker for me in building the app. Creating the app itself isn’t the hard part—I actually published the Android App a month ago. But now I’m stuck again when it comes to making improvements, since I use an iPhone and no longer have access to Android phone for testing. So, there’s no way for me to build and test whether the changes work.

yeah that was the major blocker for me too. i believe it costs $99 to push the app to app store, also I am not sure if i will be able to regularly push updates etc.

Hi there, I've done a successful container deployment with rootless podman. I've attached a basic yaml you can run with podman kube play <file> or run as a quadlet defined with a .kube file.

Clearly lots to do, but it looks good so far. I'd like to be able to

• edit goals
• use the barcode reader in a mobile browser
• disable sign ups
• disable sections (food / exercise / check in)

Just deployed this via docker compose and the installation went well. Maybe add links in the README for the example .env and docker-compose.yml files for simplicity?

I've encountered a few bugs (calorie calculations break after adding exercises and steps, FatSecret integration doesn't appear to be working, can't upload a profile photo) but so far it looks to be a great start!

I've tried wger and this appears to be a similar tool. I had some complaints with that around the food selections (default portions are all 100g, I rarely know what 100g is of something, in US it's mostly oz) which I suspect is mainly due to the OpenFoodFacts database, but I like the interface here better.

Perhaps there could be some integration with Open Exercise Database to populate exercises? (https://github.com/yuhonas/free-exercise-db)

I'll be checking in to see how the project is progressing, but it looks like it'll be a great app, thank you!

@sjtechy Fatsecret and excercise total both are resolved in new updates. I wasn't sure what was the issue with Fatsecret. It started working again. Check on your end.

@sjtechy Fatsecret has IP restriction and you will need update IP address of your server in here. And the change could take 24 hours to make your IP whitelisted in their server. This is their policy. It could be the reason why yours not working.

Thanks, I'm not used to services having whitelisting as a requirement, but I've set it up and will check again tomorrow!
