Values

1. Language access comes before everything else

Financial and technical knowledge should be available in the language people actually use every day. That's why Haitian Creole is the primary language for our educational material not a translation added on afterward.

2. Radical transparency

Governance, financial decisions, and internal processes should be documented publicly. This repository is itself an expression of that value.

3. Community first

Decisions should serve the community, not the personal interests of any one individual. We build with the community, not just for it.

4. Technology as a tool, not the point

Blockchain, cUSD, and Valora are a means to an end financial inclusion not the end itself. We never promote the technology for its own sake.

5. Environmental sustainability

Economic growth and environmental health aren't competing goals. We refuse to treat them that way.

6. Financial honesty

We never present CeloHT as an investment, a wealth-building opportunity, or anything that guarantees a return. We're direct about the risks that come with any crypto tool, and we don't give personal financial advice.

7. We keep learning

The crypto ecosystem, Web3 technology, and community needs all change. We stay flexible and adjust our approach based on what actually works, not on what sounded good on paper.
