Perhaps this should be considered an example of a mismatch between the card's barcode and its identifier. Be that as it may, the user may have the impression that the scanner is not working correctly, and he will try to scan the card again, or type the text of the code by hand, and select a coding system that would generate the same code as shown on the card (and would fail at it).

Which store is this about? I'm trying to track all stores that do this for if #89 ever becomes a thing.
Right now users can manually change the identifier. Not really much that can be done on Catima's side if the store "lies" about what's actually the ID (perhaps something OCR to detect numbers near a code but that sounds very fragile too).
