MOM6 science testing

This is an issue to keep track of and discuss potential experiments to inform tuning MOM6 configuration in ACCESS-OM3.

Suggested by @adele-morrison:

• Compare long (100yr) runs using z-star and HyCOM coordinates
• Compare/contrast NCAR and GFDL configurations

Steve Griffies says there have been lots of updates to mixing parameters since GFDL-OM4, particularly bottom mixing and tropical upper ocean mixing. He suggested getting in touch with Brandon Reichl at GFDL to find out about their latest investigations / improvements.
