For the metadata it is useful to calculate the detection limit of the full system, which is different than the detection limit of the instrument itself. It varies with the detection limit of the instrument, volume of the system, and length of time. Attached is a spreadsheet I put together for calculating the detection limit for tree radon fluxes and the paper I drew from for the calculations. It might need some tweaking but it is food for thought.
