Issue with netopeer2 installation

Hey there, im trying to install netopeer2 using these instructions. When I get to step "4 Install Netopeer", I get an error message during installation that says "Unable to learn libnetconf2 module search directory, define LN2_YANG_MODULE_DIR manually." What does that mistake mean and how do I remedy that? I'm using Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS.
If you want me to provide more info, tell me the way to do so as well, cause I'm not proficient in Linux stuff

Do you have pkg-config installed? It is required for this variable to be defined automatically.

Netopeer2 requires libyang, libnetconf2, sysrepo.
Libyang requires C compiler, cmake >= 2.8.12, libpcre2 and >= 10.21 (including devel package)
Libnetconf2 requires C compiler, cmake >= 3.5.0, crypt(3), libyang, libssh >=0.9.5, OpenSSL >= 3.0.0, curl >= 7.30.0
Sysrepo requires C compiler, cmake >= 2.8.12, libyang and tar(1)

These are all supposed to be mandatory requirements. Did I get them right?

Yes, that is what is written in the README of the corresponding projects. pkg-config is technically not required but, frankly, almost always installed by default so it is mentioned in the optional requirements.

Ok I see. Any other packages that come to mind that might have been omitted like pkg-config?

I don't think so, you will be informed by cmake.

I have the exact same issue, I have all the mentioned requirements (pkg-config included), but I'm still getting that error. @michalvasko

I tried with both pre-built package (through APT) and building sysrepo, libnetconf2 and libyang2 manually but nothing worked. What should LN2_YANG_MODULE_DIR points to?

If you build libnetconf2 yourself with the default options, it should be /usr/local/share/yang/modules/libnetconf2. If you have it as a package, probably /usr/share/yang/modules/libnetconf2.
