I need the "sync description" feature working on PowerQuery Tables. Is there a timeline for realisation?

Any idea when this will be done ? We are taking up a major enhancements to our data models, which also involves adding business definitions. We just upgraded our envs to 2019 and I just realized that this feature doesn't work because of the "modern get data" experience. Is there any alternative in the interim? I am stressing out as I convinced my biz sponsors on how we can take these definitions all the way to Power BI.

It is an open source project so if you want to attempt to code this and share the code that would be great too.
