wildcard route rewrite

In 2022, the issue #803 to add router wildcard rewrite feature was raised. Is this the best forum to open the discussion of that feature?

The GitHub issue quotes @johnnyreilly redirection API work-around tweeted about by @ShanonJackson @anthonychu

@mkarmark said 'We currently don't support wildcard paths for rewrite, but can consider supporting that in the future!"

Is this too similar to the 'Supporting Wildcards in staticwebapp.config.json' discussion? This idea is specifically to add support for wildcard re-writes.

Alternatively clients will have to upgrade to adding a Global CDN service like FrontDoor.
