Minimal steps to reproduce

just do an azd up with the default prompts

Any log messages given by the failure

InvalidResourceProperties: The specified SKU 'Standard' for model 'gpt-4o-mini 2024-07-18' is not supported in this region 'eastus2'.

Expected/desired behavior

The deployment process should not offer a region eastus2 as the default while the region does not support the deployment.

The devcontainer provided in the project.

Hello,

After 20 min, the deployment fails with the message in the subject.

eastus2 is the default region suggested by the azd deployment.

eastus2 is one of the most resource enriched azure regions.

I understand that I can scan through Azure documentation and find the list of required Azure resources and find the region that provides all the required resources for the deployment.

Is there an "Efficient" way to check the availability of the required resources?

We advice to use EastUS for the azd up deploy.

Please let us know if we need to update other sections in the documentation.
Note: The gpt-4o-mini model is going to be available in other regions soon.

You can also deploy your own resources in other regions, and follow the steps to reuse them following the use existing resources guide.

Please note the following:

1- While the documentation suggests eastus, ADP suggests something else (eastus2). That is the focus of this case.
2- I was hoping to find an automated way to detect if a region supports all the resource required by the deployment.
