Quick summary
The Global Styles dropdowns for font selection only offers three options -
- Theme default
- Heading font selection from custom fonts in Customizer
- Body text font selection from custom fonts in Customizer
Looking ahead to where Customizer could be deprecated in favor of Global Styles (at least in part), it makes sense to mirror the font selection option from Customizer in Global Styles.
Steps to reproduce
- Head to Global Styles in the template editor, and select Typography, then the text format to edit.
- Observe that there are limited font selection options as these are based on existing custom font selections in the Customizer.
What you expected to happen
Global Styles should have feature parity with the Fonts section in Customizer to offer a more complete Full Site Editing experience.
What actually happened
There is a marked disparity between the Global Styles font selection option and the custom fonts option in Customizer:
