Summary

Five new slash commands for the interactive REPL.

Commands

Command Behavior
/queue <task> Queues a task to run after current turn completes. ⏳ Queued (1): "..." — auto-drains in order.
/steer <guidance> Mid-task steering. Works while busy. 🎯 Steering set: "..." → next turn gets STEERING: prefix. Single-shot.
/btw <note> Contextual side note. Works while busy. 📝 Noted: "..." → next turn gets NOTE: prefix. Accumulates.
/writing-plans <topic> Plan mode. Formats plan-writing prompt → agent saves to .hermes/plans/<slug>.md.
/subagent-driven-execution <task> Delegation mode. Formats delegate_task prompt → agent decomposes + spawns subagents.

Architecture

  • All 5 intercepted in chat.ts REPL handler before the existing / dispatch
  • /steer, /btw, /queue bypass the busy guard (work mid-turn)
  • /writing-plans, /subagent-driven-execution blocked when busy with "use /queue" message
  • Queue drain in finally block with per-task try/catch
  • buildPromptContext() exported for testing
  • slash.ts has passthrough cases for non-TTY replLines fallback

Tests

  • 11 new tests: 5 passthrough + 6 prompt context assembly
  • 205 tests pass, 0 failures

- /queue <task>: enqueues tasks when busy, auto-drains queue on completion
- /steer <guidance>: mid-task steering, injects STEERING: prefix into next turn
- /btw <note>: contextual side notes, accumulate and inject NOTE: prefix
- /writing-plans <topic>: formats plan-writing prompt, saves to .hermes/plans/
- /subagent-driven-execution <task>: formats delegation prompt for subagents
- Busy-guard bypass: /steer /btw /queue work mid-turn
- Queue drain in finally block, per-task try/catch
- buildPromptContext() exported for testing
- 11 new tests: 5 passthrough + 6 prompt context assembly
- 205 tests pass, 0 failures
