Our Purpose

Adhaniya is created with a simple purpose:

To provide a useful, accessible, private, and ad-free prayer companion for Muslims around the world.

We believe that an Islamic application should be simple, accessible, and focused on providing genuine benefit without distracting advertisements.

Adhaniya is developed with the hope that it can benefit Muslims around the world and become a source of continuous reward (amal jariyah).

Free and Ad-Free

Adhaniya is provided free of charge and does not display advertisements.

There are no intrusive banners, pop-ups, or other forms of advertising within the application.

Our goal is to keep the experience focused on what matters most: prayer.

Privacy

Adhaniya is designed with privacy in mind.

• 🔒 No Account Required — You do not need to create an account or log in to use Adhaniya.
• 🚫 No Advertisements — Adhaniya does not display advertisements.
• 👤 No User Accounts — Adhaniya does not require users to maintain a personal account.
• 🎯 Focused on Essential Data — Only the information necessary to provide prayer times and Qibla direction should be used.

📱 Supported devices and browsers

Adhaniya is designed as a PWA with Web Push notifications. PWA installation support and FCM Web Push support are separate capabilities, so a browser may support installing Adhaniya while not supporting the FCM notification flow.

Huawei: Huawei devices without Google Mobile Services (GMS) cannot rely on the normal Android FCM transport. FCM Web Push behavior through a browser must be tested on the specific Huawei device/browser combination.

Web Push is supported for Home Screen web apps on iOS/iPadOS 16.4 and later.

Notification support policy

Adhaniya currently uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) as its notification provider.

The supported-device target is therefore:

Browsers that can install the PWA but do not provide a compatible FCM Web Push environment can still use Adhaniya's prayer times, Qibla, settings, and other PWA features. Only background push/Adhan notifications may be unavailable.

Brave note: Brave can run/install PWAs, but Brave disables Google Cloud Messaging / Firebase Cloud Messaging integration. Therefore FCM notification support should not be expected in Brave.

🗺️ Roadmap

Adhaniya is continuously being developed to provide a reliable, lightweight, and accessible Islamic prayer experience.

Planned

• 🌐 Migrate to the .com domain
  Adhaniya will eventually migrate from the current domain to an official .com domain.

• 🔔 Alternative Web Push provider
  When Adhaniya reaches approximately 10,000 users, we plan to add an alternative Web Push provider to improve notification compatibility for browsers that do not support Firebase Cloud Messaging, such as Brave and other unsupported environments.

• 🤲 Community-supported development
  Development of the alternative Web Push infrastructure may be accelerated if community members are willing to support Adhaniya through donations.

Adhaniya is developed with the goal of providing a useful and accessible Islamic prayer service. Donations are voluntary and will be used to help support infrastructure and future development.
