Running training lab demos - general strategies

Random notes from our training lab weekly meeting

• Maybe asking people to post on AC forum introductions to themselves (on the spot), and also add their thoughts to a relevant post (optionally on the spot), as a way to make it easier to keep organized for future interactions and spur continued discussion
• QR code interaction - maybe better to have mouse/keyboards available for specific demos, since people weren't really using the QR codes (i.e., have something dedicated). (thanks @Jonathan-Woo)
• Monitor issues - maybe need to buy new ones, because it's really hard to get the RPis to connect reliably, and it's not great that we might need to change various HDMI settings to see if that can help it connect
• People were amazed by the cobot (you clicked a button on the phone and something moved) @gursi26
• A loop of cobot moving would have been nice such as picking something up. Maybe vial transfer to/from capper/decapper and glass slide transfer to/from microscope (latter with suction gripper)
• Something with AprilTags and one of the cameras would be nice for next time
• It was too narrow of an area for the training lab demos - little place for people to stand, maybe something accessible on more sides, that people can gather around
• The focus for on showing workflows for next time, integration between devices
• Lots of interest in the OT-2 (people wanting to incorporate the color matching demo into a course for example) @Neil-YL
• One suggestion was to have a 1-hr virtual workshop on OT-2 and the color matching demo @SissiFeng
