FYI, DPEL is just transitioning to a Markdown-based system for their website, which seems to be working well. See here: https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/dpel-website

Thanks @hisergiorojas - when you have time, could you take a look at https://github.com/AcademySoftwareFoundation/dpel-website and see what it would take to use the same infrastructure for OTIO?

We can also repurpose some of the images/slides from recent OTIO overview presentations so that the basic question of "What is OTIO?" is clear at a glance on the front page.
