Describe the bug
Doesn't retain "Default HW Mode: SEQUENCER" setting

Irrespective of the "Default HW Mode" setting in the "Editor Preferences", when re-opening a Cubase Project, loading a Preset or "PUSH DATA TO HW" (and probably other MIDI operations) the Virus changes from whatever mode its in to MULTI. The "Default HW Mode" setting I had chosen in the "Editor Preferences" also changes to "MULTI". This is an issue for me as I need MIDI Channel volumes etc. which don't work in MULTI mode.

A workaround is to select SEQUENCER mode manually on the Virus every time it is changed to MULTI by the plugin. But this messes up the voice currently selected in the plugin which has to be unselected and will eventually return to normal after being played for some seconds.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Set "Default HW Mode: SEQUENCER"
  2. "Save all settings as Defaults"
  3. Re-open Cubase Project

Expected behavior
The editor should retain the "Default HW Mode: SEQUENCER" setting between sessions.

Setup Details (please complete the following information):

  • MacBook Pro M3 Max 16"
  • macOS 14.3 (23D56)
  • Cubase Pro 13.0.20 Build 148 (Apple Silicon)
  • USB MIDI
  • Access Virus TI Desktop
  • Editor Version: 24.01.26
  • Main Connection: USB

Additional context
I believe that other "Editor Preferences" settings aren't retained such as "Auto-reconnect" but I've not investigated.
When closing a Cubase Project, the Virus changes from whatever mode it's in to SINGLE.

FYI In version 24.02.17 if I choose "Default HW Mode: SEQUENCER" it actually selects "Default HW Mode: MULTI" and the Virus goes into MULTI mode, even if it was actually SEQ previously.

I can also confirm that "Auto-reconnect" setting isn't retained.

I am also experiencing intermittent issues with some of the channels on starting my Cubase project:

  • Sustains that can only be stopped by selecting the channels in question and cycling the sustain button
  • Channels that don't respond to volume CC until I reload the preset and set the Virus back to SEQ.
