Japanese web keyboard

chrome extension

Switches the keyboard layout to hiragana (on web pages) with a usable GUI.

Installation

Download the minified branch code > navigate to "chrome://extensions" > toggle "developer mode" on > "load unpacked" > select the code folder

Usage

press CTRL + i to toggle on/off

type directly in your keyboard or click on the GUI keys

visual feedback is displayed on the GUI

Limitations

• There is no IME, so you can only write hiragana or katakana.

• Doesn't work on some js web apps that use input methods that don't rely on input or textarea elements (e.g. WhatsApp web).
