Does the eSATA port of Synology products support eSATA disk enclosures with port multipliers?
All Synology products do not support eSATA disk enclosures with port multipliers. The installed drives on eSATA disk enclosures with port multipliers may not be recognized by Synology products. If you would like to use external disk enclosures with multiple drives, we recommend you to use Synology Expansion Units. Please see the compatibility list here for more information.
